Continuing the gentle pace of the Absolute Beginners course, with plenty of opportunity for repetition or questions, this course will continue to build on the basic steps of jazz and work on combining them into sequences.
Some faster and more complicated steps will be worked into the mix, giving a broader understanding of the options and combinations available. As always, a smaller class size to ensure everyone can have the teacher's attention when needed.

Over the course of five lessons, we will endeavour to become comfortable with basic tap movements and sequences in a relaxed and open environment. Working at a pace tailored to those participating, the content of each class will generally begin with a group warm up, simple exercises on the spot and across the room and culminating in an enjoyable routine.
The classes will be mostly the same for two weeks in a row, giving each dancer a chance to absorb and improve on what they have learnt. The difficulty of what we learn will gradually build and through repetition, the participants will gain knowledge of tap vocabulary and feel confident in putting it into practice.

This course is for those who wish to learn the basic principles and knowledge of contemporary dance. It is a great chance to get an introduction to a sector of dance that isn't so easily available in comparison to other disciplines.
The classes will be loosely based around 'Cunningham' and 'Release' contemporary techniques and will include focus on back mobility, travelling to each individual's absolute maximum and integrating classical technique to a more grounded and expansive format of movement.
Exercises in the centre will warm up the body from head to toe before moving onto travelling phrases, floor-work and jumps; all at a basic level with room for customising the material to the individual's needs/ability.
Perfect for those with little or no dance background who wish to try a more free and explorative dance class.
